MBB: Nebrasketball ready for the ‘fun’ to begin after a 5-2 start to the season

Competition will kick up soon for Nebrasketball, with an early taste of conference play just weeks away.

The Huskers have a busy start to the 2017-18 season, playing 10 games in just over three weeks, capped off by pair of early Big Ten matches against Michigan State and Minnesota.

“A basketball coach kind of lives in this constant state of ‘What can we do to make ourselves better and live for the day and live for the moment and just try to win every possession,’” Miles said in response to a Nov. 20 question about the confidence of his team heading into a difficult stretch of games.

“I know what our guys can do and I believe in our guys. From that stand point I’m very confident. Now, for our ability to go out and execute things well and right, we’ve got a heck of a lot of work to do.”

Nebraska kicks off the rest of conference play on January 2, traveling for a pair of road games against Northwestern and Purdue. In total, the Huskers will play eight Big Ten games on the road and eight at home, matching up twice against Wisconsin, Penn State, Illinois, Rutgers and Minnesota.
